FASHION DESIGNER: Anne Sofie Madsen

Cada vez que me preguntan si tengo algún diseñador favorito, se me hace imposible pensar en uno solo. Hay tanta gente a la que admiro haciendo cosas tan increíbles, como es el caso de mi más reciente descubrimiento: Anne Sofie Madsen. Esta diseñadora danesa que ha trabajado para Alexander McQueen, no solo produce piezas alucinantes, sino que también es ilustradora y plasma sus obras en sus prendas.

Su arte se define como una mezcla entre los métodos tradicionales con las técnicas de alta costura para crear colecciones prêt-à-porter. Lo que más me llama la atención sobre esta diseñadora es la forma como maneja distintos materiales y texturas, y los increíbles contrastes que logra.

Acá les muestro parte de su trabajo, espero que lo disfruten tanto como yo!

Whenever people ask me about my favorite designer, I find it almost impossible to think of just one. There's so many people I admire so much, for example my most recent discovery: Anne Sofie Madsen. This danish designer who was worked for Alexander McQueen, not only produces amazing fashion pieces, she also makes great illustrations (digitally printed on her fabrics).

She uses traditional handcraft methods and couture techniques to create ready-to-wear collections. And this is what I love the most about her art: the mixing of different materials, textures and techniques.

PARADISE

Oficialmente terminaron mis vacaciones, y aunque fueron muy cortas las disfruté muchísimo. Estar de vuelta en mi país, aunque sea por pocos días, me produce mucha nostalgia, pero al mismo tiempo me hace muy feliz llevarme nuevos recuerdos junto a la gente que tanto amo y extraño. Estas son algunas fotos de mi viaje a Venezuela.

OUTFIT: Vacays!

Estoy de vacaciones en Venezuela, mi país natal, y como se imaginarán, lo que más extraño de vivir aquí es la playa. Aún cuando casi nunca iba, pero como dicen: nunca sabes lo que tienes hasta que te mudas a una ciudad en donde es invierno todo el tiempo y la playa más cercana queda a 10 horas en carro. En fin, hoy me iré a Margarita a pasar unos días con mis amigos y por ende estaré ausente del blog, pero espero volver con muchas fotos hermosas de mi lugar favorito en toda Venezuela.

Les dejo este post cortito de un outfit en el que de hecho la mayoría de las piezas las compré para usarlas en este viaje. El top, por ejemplo, es algo que nunca usaría en Bogotá, pero aproveché que estaba en oferta para traérmelo y sacarle provecho. Los shorts son un tema para mí porque siempre que consigo unos high-waisted que me gusten, jamás hay en mi talla, pero estos fueron la excepción y créanme que nunca me los quito jajaja. Por último, las sandalias también las compré para usarlas acá y las amo! Casi nunca uso sandalias y me siento rarísima cuando lo hago (soy más tomboy en cuanto a zapatos se refiere)

I'm on vacations in Venezuela, my native country, and as you can imagine, what I miss the most about living here is the beach. You know what they say: you never know what you have until you move to a city where it's winter all the time and the nearest beach is a 10 hour drive. Anyway, I'm leaving to Margarita Island in a couple of hours. I'll be spending a few days with my friends and therefore I'll be absent from the blog, but I hope to return with many beautiful photos of my favorite place in all of Venezuela.

About this outfit, I bought most of the pieces to use them on this trip. The top, for example, I would never wear it in Bogota, but it was in sale, so I thought it would be really useful while being here (it's freaking hot in my city!). Shorts are an issue for me because I can never find my size, but these were the exception and believe me I never take them off! I also got these sandals recently and I love them! I Almost never wear sandals and I feel very strange when I do (I'm more of a tomboy when it comes to shoes)

THROUGH MY EYES

Siempre estoy tomando fotos de todo lo que me llama la atención, bien sea para compartirlas o solo guardarlas para futuros moodboards de inspiración. Estas son algunas de las que tomé hace unos días en un paseo por el centro de Bogotá. La Candelaria es uno de mis sectores favoritos de la ciudad por lo pintorescas que son sus calles y los múltiples planes culturales que ofrece. En esta ocasión llevé a un amigo en plan turístico (turístico para mí también porque siempre descubro cosas nuevas y me pierdo como cualquier turista! jajaja)

I'm always taking pictures of everything that catches my eye, either to share or just save them for future inspiration moodboards. These are some of the pictures I took a few days ago on a walk through downtown Bogota. La Candelaria is one of my favorite areas of the city because of how lovely its streets are and the many cultural plans that it offers.

BOY ALERT: Ezra Miller

Quienes me siguen en Twitter saben lo obsesionada que estoy con Ezra Miller, y es que no solo estamos hablando de lo increíblemente guapo que es (de hecho podría dedicarle todo un post para hablar de su belleza y su estructura ósea perfecta, pero este no es el caso) sino que posee un talento absurdo para la corta edad que tiene. Con solo 20 años de edad, este chico de New Jersey se ha adueñado de las pantallas de cine, con su papel protagónico en el escalofriante drama We Need to Talk About Kevin (2011), en donde interpreta a un niño problemático que le hace la vida imposible a su madre -interpretada por la majestuosa Tilda Swinton- y al volverse adolescente se convierte en asesino (lo que me hace recordar que hace poco vi un par de documentales sobre Richard Ramírez y solo pensaba en que Ezra podría perfectamente protagonizar una película sobre él, pues tienen rasgos muy parecidos! Creepy). También con su papel más reciente y quizás el más conocido, como Patrick "Nothing" en The Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012), en el que da vida a un adolescente homosexual bastante excéntrico, o en la comedia City Island (2009) en la que forma parte de una familia muy peculiar y encarna al hijo de Andy García. Sea cual sea el caso, no cabe duda de lo talentoso y camaleónico que es, y de lo mucho que promete.

Those who follow me on Twitter know what I'm obsessed with Ezra Miller, and we're not just talking about how incredibly handsome he is (in fact I could devote an entire blog entry to talk about his beauty, but this is not the case), but he's also ridiculously talented. This 20-year-old from New Jersey has taken over movie screens with his starring role in the chilling drama We Need to Talk About Kevin (2011), in which he plays a troubled kid who makes life miserable for his mother, played by Tilda Swinton- and when turning a teenager he becomes a murderer (which reminds me that I recently saw a couple of documentaries about Richard Ramirez and just thought that Ezra could easily star in a film about him, since they seem to have very similar features! Creepy). Also with his ​​most recent and perhaps best known as Patrick "Nothing" in The Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012), in which he plays an eccentric teenager, or in the comedy City Island (2009) where he plays the son of Andy Garcia. Whatever the case, there is no doubt about how talented and versatile he is.

Recientemente protagonizó la campaña de Prada para la colección FW 2013 junto a Christoph Waltz y Ben Whishaw, con un look más dandy del que estamos acostumbrados a verle, pero igual de exquisito.

Ezra Miller es una mezcla perfecta de talento, belleza y actitud, y no puedo esperar para ver más de él y verlo convertirse en uno de los grandes del cine y en un ícono de moda.
